Benjamin Hager
Ben is a second year law student at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Ben’s academic interests include tax law, corporate law, securities regulation, financial markets (including financial derivatives), and estate planning. In addition, he has an abiding interest in hedge funds, venture capital funds, and private equity funds.
Prior to law school, Ben interned at Marathon Petroleum Company, LLC. After his first year of law school, Ben joined the Kentucky based law firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC as a summer associate. There, his work included researching and analyzing legal issues in areas such as tax law, corporate law, bankruptcy, and financial institution regulation. Also, he assisted in drafting and reviewing corporate documents, including merger and securities documents.
Ben graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Transylvania University. During his undergraduate studies, he completed an extensive research project detailing the accounting and tax treatment of financial derivatives.
Ben is an avid supporter of World Vision for Hunger and International Justice Mission. He enjoys skiing, hiking, rock climbing, SCUBA diving, and traveling.
