Elaine Nolen

Elaine is a third-year JD candidate at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She received her BA in Spanish and math from Colorado College. Prior to attending law school, Elaine oversaw grant administration for a refugee resettlement program in Denver and Colorado Springs.

Elaine is currently pursuing a Corporate and Commercial Law Certificate. During the 2016-2017 academic year, Elaine served as a student attorney in the Community Economic Development transactional clinic. Her previous legal internship experience includes Burns, Figa, & Will in Denver and Estudio Beccar Varela in Buenos Aires.

In addition to contributing to The Race to the Bottom, Elaine drafted the 2018 supplement for Professor Jan Laitos’ Treatise, Law of Property Protection Rights: Limitations on Governmental Powers and participated in Sturm College’s bilingual Inter-American Summer Program in Guatemala. Outside of law school, Elaine has worked as a bar tender and Christmas caroler. She enjoys backpacking and fishing with her husband and dogs.
