James is a second-year J.D. student at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. He is a Colorado native and previously attended the University of Denver where he received both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and International Business, as well as a Master’s of Science in Applied Quantitative Finance. Prior to attending law school, James created and managed his own investment portfolio.
James is currently pursuing a Corporate and Commercial Law Certificate and has specific interests in securities and venture law. In the summer following his 1L year, James worked as an in-house Law Clerk for Gates Corporation, a multinational industrial company based in Denver. For the fall of his 2L year, James will be interning with the Division of Enforcement at the Denver regional office of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In addition to contributing to the Race to the Bottom, James is a member of the Venture Law Society, the DU OUTlaws, the DU Law Ambassadors, and is one of the 2018 champions of the Advocate’s Cup. Outside of law school, James enjoys playing tennis, photography, and all that Colorado’s natural beauty has to offer.
