John is a first-year law school student at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law. As a Colorado native, John loves the outdoors, including skiing and fishing. Before coming to law school, John completed his undergraduate studies at Iowa State University, earning two degrees in Data Analysis and Management Information Systems. He remains an avid Cyclone supporter of their football and basketball programs.

John is currently pursuing a Corporate and Commercial Law Certificate with an interest in consumer data privacy. He is interested in why companies value our data so much, why it is useful to them, and why it might be harmful to the general public. Following his 1L year, he hopes to work for a firm involved in cybersecurity or compliance, ensuring consumer data remains safe.

In addition to being a Student Contributor with The Race to the Bottom, John hopes to participate in other programs like moot court once he is eligible. John enjoys researching the legality surrounding big data and hopes to assist professors or practicing professionals in answering questions through research.

Outside of school, John enjoys being a mediocre golfer, spending time with family, and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche.
