Vanessa is a Contributor for the Race to the Bottom and a second-year law student at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Vanessa is pursuing a certificate in Corporate and Commercial Law and plans to practice corporate transactional law upon earning her JD. Prior to law school, Vanessa worked as a senior paralegal and operations manager at a full-service boutique law firm with practices in family law, business law, employment law, civil and commercial litigation, criminal defense, and estate planning. Currently, amid her studies, she is a Staff Editor for Denver Law Review and is a 2L representative and member in the Black Law Students’ Association (BLSA).

Vanessa grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado Denver in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Management, HR Management, and International Business.
